It was based on a children’s book idea that he was going to write, and it premiered in July of 2006. During his time there he became friends with Peter Brown, an illustrator.ĭan created the show “The Replacements” for Disney Channel in 2005. Then he went to the Art Center College of Design, and graduated with distinction. After he went to Adolfo Camarillo High School, he graduated from the University of California at San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology. He was born in 1975 to Thai immigrants in Brooklyn before they moved to California when Dan was three years old. Dan Santat is an American illustrator and writer known for his Caldecott Medal winning “The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend” book for distinguished illustration.
